Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Unborn childs father has left. We live in ohio. Ive sent him a certified Letter with info on appointments and baby. He demands a paternity test which i am fine with but how do i go about filing to have a test done after the baby is born? Also can I file a court case for half of the cost of the items I have purchased for our child. ?

Your best bet is to go to the county you reside in (after the baby is born) and talk to your local child support enforcement agency. They can assist you administratively to pursue paternity and a child support order.

There are varying thoughts about the father's responsibilities for what you have purchased. It's not very likely that a court would order the father to pay half the costs of what you have already purchased. You can check with your local child support enforcement agency, though. Some agencies will pursue one half of the birthing costs for you.
