Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

is a will on file?

my mother in law passed away recently. We believe she had a will but we can not locate it. If she wrote up her will with an attorney would he have that will on file and or would they have filed the will with some sort of govwernment agency so that we might be able to retrieve the will?

The attorney may have a copy and that can be (after some effort) used as a lost will. Probate courts and some attorneys sometimes keep the original will on file.
