Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio

My manager is clocking me out early every day even though I'm on time or end up working late and putting me down as having taken breaks I've never taken (I'm not underage and it's not company policy to have mandatory breaks.) Everyone at work is scared to confront him for fear of getting fired, is this illegal?

Without all the facts, I can't be sure, however, your treatment sounds like a wage and hour violation. I am not taking new cases, however, what you really need to do is to contact the federal wage and hour folks. I will try to put their contact information for their three major Ohio offices below.

Additionally, if your employer is taking steps to prevent you and your co-workers from discussing your working conditions, it may be a violation of the National Labor Relations Act. This is true even if your discussions are on-line or in social media. You can reach the NLRB Cinti office at (513) 684-3686. The NLRA protects your right of free association even if you do not belong to a union.
