Make your landlord aware of the smell - in writing. Ask your landlord to visit the property so he or she is aware that the smell is making you ill. Strong smells and offensive odors, if permitted by a landlord, can violate the Ohio Landlord Tenant Act because it disrupts your enjoyment of the leased property. If the smell is not remedied after you have brought it to your landlord's attention, consider consulting with an attorney who could help you end your lease and move out.
