Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

my mother in laws cousin has lived in her home that we own since her death six years ago. he has paid some property taxes, garbage and water softener. . We would like him to move so my kids can move in to help with the property maintainance and mortgage payments as I am disabled and have not been able to work for three years. . He did give us ten thousand dollars two years ago from an insurance settlement he received. He is on SSI and could not claim that as income to help save the home from forclosure, there was no agreement that it was a loan or that we were to pay him back since he has not paid anything other than that toward the mortgage or insurance. can we just ask him to leave or is there a legal route we should follow.

I do not practice landlord/tenant law; therefore, I am not going to be able to answer your specific questions, nor will I be representing you. I urge you to consult immediately with other lawyers regarding your potential legal rights. Your local bar association may have a lawyer referral service that can provide you with the names of some lawyers near you who handle these types of matters. In the alternative, you may want to contact the Columbus Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service (telephone number 614-221-4112; web address http://www.peoplesbar.org/findingalawyer/referral_form.php). I am sorry I cannot help you.
