Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Ohio

breach of contract

As my gym membership was expiring, the manager of The gym in order to renew my membership promised me that if I rejoined, my yearly dues ($48)would never ever increase for life. I asked him to put it in writing, sign it, and initial it and I would rejoin. He happily did all three and in addition we shook hands. Now The gym says the manager had no authority to make the deal and they will not honor the signed contract.

Please help me. Is there a resonable lawyer in Toledo to take my case if I could win? I am unemployed (2 yrs)All I seek is continued membership as agreed.

Re: breach of contract

Sounds like a case for small claims court. Most attorneys will charge an hourly rate of $100+ - not economically viable for you to hire an attorney for a breach of promise. Sorry!
