Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Divorce and home sale

My husband & my divorce will be final on 03/27/09. We are both still living in our house. We have put the house on the market at what we need to break even. This is way higher than houses in our neighborhood have sold. We have had no showings. We just got the paperwork from the lender to do a short sale if we get any offers. If I move out before the house is sold will this be a detriment to me in any way?

Re: Divorce and home sale

That depends on the terms of the final divorce decree. If bills for the house were ro be split prior to sale, then as long as you keep paying, you can live where you wish. The decree should prescribe how the house should be disposed of.
