joint and survivorship deed

If a husband and wife take title to real property via a general warranty deed, can they then transfer the property to themselves using a joint and survivorship deed?

A husband and wife can transfer from a tenacy in common by deed to a tenancy by survivorship

The fact that the existing deed is a warranty deed does not necessarily mean it is not with survivorship already. Look at the deed closely before changing.
