Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Problems with a house after buying it!

I was wondering about if their was anything that I could do for my situation. I bought my house almost a year in a half ago and about a month after I bought the house the basement started to flood. I was telling a friend about it and he told me that I could do something about. (his dad is a real estate agent) I have talked to the people who originally owned the house when it was first built and they said that the basement has always leaked and flooded. I am confused as to why when the house was inspected why this was not caught by the inspector. Is their anything that I can do about this situation? Please let me know. Thank You!!!

Call the local bar association and ask for a referral to a lawyer who has no initial phone consultation fee. There are 2 issues involved here...1st when did the basement actually start to leak....and 2nd...did you rely on any representations of the sellers regarding water in the basement? Talk to a local lawyer...he may be able to do something on a contingency basis.
