Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Ohio

Harassment of Straight Female by Gay Male

I am the first female to work in an all-male dept. in twenty-plus years. The secretary is a gay male, I am a material handler (drive a tow motor). I believe (know) he feels threatended by having a me around...I get along great with the truck drivers, add a feminine touch here and there, am not imtimidated by the computer. He has harassed me for at least 2 1/2 years - and succeeded. The other males joined in with him and have made my work life unbearable. Is there any precedent for a gay male harassing a straight female?

What can I do? Thank you.

Re: Harassment of Straight Female by Gay Male

The gender or sexual orientation of the harrasser is of no consequence. The nature of the harassment is what matters. Consult an employment attorney in your area to proceed further. Make sure you have witnesses and documentation of the harrassment. Good luck.
