Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

drivers license

Currently have a cdl in pa, having difficulty finding work due to a few points on license from speeding and careless driving, is there a way to get these points removed, thinking about moving to ohio applying for ohio drivers license, would my pa points follow or would i have a clean driving record

Re: drivers license

You asked about getting a clean driver license.

I understand your frustration but your proposal is illegal and would probably be ineffective. Many states communicate driver history and particularly so with commercial licenses.

In PA offenses remain on your record for a certain period of time. But during that period of time there is an even shorter period after which certain offenses are no longer available on requested reports though they still remain on your record.

Due to the two tiered system that already provides for the expiry of points there is no means for an expungement. Moreover, expeungment is usually only available for a singular offense and a subsequent offense militates against expungement.

Roger
