Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

My brother recently passed away after a long illness (10years). We had created a will and signed powers of attorney. Shortly before his death we discovered he had a life insurance policy created 15 years ago. Although he had been resident with one sibling who saw to his care, this policy named our mother beneficiary. She has been adjudged to be incompetent 5 years ago and was appointed a legal guardian who does not have power over her estate. The will (created 5 years ago) names siblings as his beneficiaries. The question is who inherits the life insurance? And can/should that be contested?
