Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

My father apparently had a will that we (meaning my six sisters and I) knew nothing about..now we are being requested to appear in court in less than 1 month in order to say if we protest the selling of the land by my step mother. Do we need a lawyer to appear on our behalf since none of us were aware of the Will or owning of the land? If he has been dead for 10 years do we have a right to protest this will? We are all located throughout the United States and the case is in Ohio.

Unfortunately, your question does not include enough detail to provide an answer. It would be best if you contacted a lawyer in the county where your father resided when he died, which should be the same county where the court is located and named in the notice you received. The lawyer will then consult the court records to determine what is going on and what are your options and rights. But act quickly because time is of essence and if you wait too long you may waive your rights.
