Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma

I was arrested for petty larceny, I have court in 2 months my bailsbond person said i didnt need an attorney because its a city charge, its my first time getting in this big mess, I am a recent graduate and i dont want to carry this record with me, if possible i would like to erase my arrest record but im not sure if i can do that, please help me..

I would strongly suggest that you hire an attorney so that this charge can eventually be erased from your record. Most people take the easy way out and just pay a fine. The problem with doing this is that paying a fine is a conviction and the petit larceny charge will stay on your record FOREVER. For this reason I would strongly encourage you to hire an attorney that can get you a deferred sentence. A deferred sentence is probation and not a conviction. After your probation is successfully completed, the charge is dismissed.You can then hire an attorney to expunge your record.
