grandson

our grandson is 12yrs and want to leave because of an abusive step father.his real father does not have to pay any suport and we would love to have our grandson here with us, is there any thing we can do?

If the stepfather, and thus the mother and surrounding environment, could be proven unfit, then there is at least some possibility, but based on only what you've said it's really impossible to say. You should consider an attorney to review the matter, and recognize the court will try to defer to a parent to keep parental strings attached, and do what's in the best interest of the child.

You question addresses one of the more complicated areas of family law because (assuming the child's mother will not consent to allow him to come live with you) you are talking about removing the child from the home of a biological parent. There is nothing easy about that process, and I would strongly recommend you retain counsel if you intend to proceed.
