Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

at 51 years old i discovered that my last name on my birth certificate doesn't match the last name that i have been useing all my life. I can't get an ID drivers licesence or job let alone get my ssn changed. what legal recourse do i have to rectify the situaition? I wish to have my birth name and not continue to live a lie.

You may want to consider a legal name change. Go to your county courthouse and pick up the papers. You will need your birth certificte and your old ssn card.

You can then have a legal name. I don't quite understand which name you wish to use, but the name change procees is usually handled without a lawyer is not very expensive.
