Legal Question in Technology Law in Pennsylvania

Email hacking.

A female friend of mine had her yahoo email hacked into on a work computer. Several emails from me were stored in a hidden file. This person printed the emails and sent them to our spouses anonymously. Now our spouses are wanting divorces. I have been told of at least one former employee that has a copy of the emails on his computer at home. I was his boss and he left the job disgruntled.

How do I proceed? Who do I tell to have this looked into? Do I have to hire an attorney or can I call the F.B.I.? Thanks.

Re: Email hacking.

his is similar to tresspass, except it is much hrder to prove. If someone hacks your e-mail, and there is no damage, like someone taking a shortcut through your yard, you are not going to get money damages, unless you can prove REAL damages. If your e-mails actually lead to divorce, you have to prove that w/o the e-mail there it would not have lead to divorce. Also, if it lead to divorce because you were hiding dealings with crooks, prositutes, a relationship with another woman, man, or child, a drug habit, criminal activity, etc., etc., there will be no sympathy for anyone but your wives and the guy that warned them about your dirty little secret. It sounds like the person sending the wives copies of the e-mails may have wanted to warn others they way they would want to be warned... What I'm saying is, based upon the limited inf provided, and my assumptions, you won't get caca. If you screwed up and got caught, you created the problem, live with it. The person you want to punish... you will not get any satisfaction. If they wanted to protect the wives, good for them for doing the right thing. If they wanted to screw you - you've been screwed. Ever hear, "what goes around comes around"? Merry Freaking Christmas!
