Legal Question in Technology Law in Pennsylvania

security cameras

3 years ago, our neighbor put up security cameras on his property that point towards our house. We recently discovered that at least one camera has a field of view that looks directly into our 16 year-old son's bedroom window and ours. He has them taping 24x7x365. Can we have the camera angle changed to exclude these areas?

Re: security cameras

Not likely. As long as the cameras are on his property and he is taping what is in the ordinary and plain view of his property (even if it is a bedroom), your best remedy will be to install blinds and keep them drawn when privacy is desired.

However, if there are other facts here which you haven't mentioned, such as if there has been a long battle between you and this neighbor, and this battle has involved trespass allegations, etc., or if the neighbor has made threats about what he would do with the video footage that he would capture with these cameras, then you should contact an attorney for a consultation.
