Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Automobile Repossession

Recently I went to a car dealer to try and trade down on my vehicle. The dealer stated that they did not want my vehicle as a trade and recommended a couple of options. One of the options was to call the bank and voluntarily have them repossess the vehicle. I stated to the salesman that this would not be a smart idea because I would still owe the balance of the vehicle after they sold it. He further stated that in the State of Pennsylvania they cannot attach wages etc. and would just count the remaining balance as a charge off? This does not sound right to me. I left the car dealer and refused to purchase a vehicle from them. Could you tell me if he was correct or was he just trying to sell me the car?

Thank you!

Re: Automobile Repossession

To be blunt, he was trying to pull one over on you. He should be fired from his job. DO NOT do as he suggested.
