Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

I have lived in PA my whole life. I got a credit card from a credit union in VA. I have heard that VA is a sharing state, does that mean I use VA's SOL of 3 years or PA's SOL of 4 years.

What is a sharing state? I have not encountered that term before. I have heard of "borrowing" statutes where one state "borrows" the statute of limitations from another state. Is that what you mean?

With credit cards, use the statute of limitations where you reside at the time you are sued. If you took out the credit card in one state and moved to another, it might be whichever statute of limitations is longer, which would be PA in your example. The other thing is that you have to read the contract carefully to see if it specifies that the contract will be interpreted as per the law of a particular state.
