car ped. hit and run

what factors need to be proved for a person to be charged with attempted murder with a vehicle/deadly weapon ? there was no death or serious injury to victim just bruises. evidence proves who the driver was and witness saw everything. we understand he will only get assult charges.

i would need a lot more information to give you a direct answer to your question, but in general, a specific intent to kill is required for attempted murder. Was the driver specifically intending to kill the person? Can the DA prove that?
