Thank you for your question. I am sure that you have been placed in a very uncomfortable situation, but if you do not cooperate with the police, you will look like you have something to hide.

If the police call you and ask that you go down to the police station because they want to question you, tell them you are certainly willing to answer any questions they would like to ask, but since one of your customers has falsely accused you of taking money from him, you would feel more comfortable having an Attorney accompany you to the police station. Regardless of what they say, if they have given you a date to appear at the police station which is less than one week away, simply tell them that you prefer meeting them with your attorney and that you will have to get back to them in a day or so to confirm the date and time. Say nothing more than, "Thank you, I will get back to you as soon as I hear from my attorney" and hang up.

Nobody should ever go to a police station for questioning without their Attorney because the police have a way of twisting things around and confusing the person they are questioning. So, if you do not have an Attorney, you should find one as soon as you get off the telephone with the police. Find an Attorney, meet with them in their office and say that you want them to accompany you to the police station because you have no idea what they will ask you, you know that you have not done anything wrong, but you have heard horror stories about how the police try to trick the people they are questioning and you would feel much more comfortable if you had an Attorney accompany you to the police station, so that they could object, if the police ask questions they should not be asking you, or are attempting to entrap you.

Kindest regards,

ANDREA

Never talk to the police. Not because I say so because Justice Robert Jackson said so. Next get an attorney. You can write the fees off on your taxes. Then if the police want something they can ask your attorney. The 5th amendment that grants your the right to silence. Further case states the DA can not use you the fact you declined to talk to them against you.
