Conflict of Interest

Is it a conflict of interest that my soon to be ex-wife and my mother are using the same lawyer against me. My mother filed a PFA against me for no reason and is now using the same lawyer that my wife had for our divorce hearing.

Yes, this is a conflict of interest on that lawyer's part.

However, if the judge is informed of both matters and the two women agree to the representation despite the conflict, then the rules permit this type of hypothetical conflict.

But that lawyer must get the agreement from each woman and file themwith the court.

This may be a conflict, but not necessarily one that you may have any right to interfere in. WHat I do suggest is that you hire private attorney to assist you with these cases in order to ensure your defense.
