Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I had something stolen at work and there is video footage that the manager could look through to find out who did it and he won't. By not helping me, isn't he helping the thief? Could he be considered an accomplice?

Thank you for your question,

The short Answer to your question is "No", your boss will not be considered an accomplice. I am sure that your employer, like many other employers, have installed cameras to protect items of their own inventory. Asking your employer to go through the video tapes to discover who stole an item of your property is placing your manager in a very uncomfortable position and might possibly subject him to liability. My colleague has asked a valid question - Have you called the police ?

This would be a job for the police, not your employer.

Kind Regards,

ANDREA
