biological father wants to see child

I'm the biological grandmother of a 10 year old boy.I have had legal guardianship of him since he was about a year old.all of the sudden his biological father{who is a severe drug addict}shows up at my door and wanted to take him with him. can I stop this?

That depends. Did the father every sign over his rights to the child? Where is the mother? How did you get guardianship of the child - did the dad object to that?
