Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

divorce and property

I live in Pa. I bought a home with my then fiancee (8 years ago), but because of my credit, we put it in his name only because the mortgage had to be in his name. I thought we would add my name after it closed. We didn't. I've asked him many times (one of our problems) He pays mortgage, I pay all the other household bills and support my daughter. We married 1 1/2 years ago and now I am considering a divorce. I don't want to walk away with nothing considering I've paid for 1/2 this house. what are my rights?

Re: divorce and property

Well a divorce action would divide the increase value of the property after you were married.

You may want to explore the possibility with an attorney an action to add your name to the title. I would have to research the case law to see what might work.

Good luck to you.
