Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

my wife and I are looking at permanent separation, but not divorce. we are on amicable terms, have 3 kids and a house. we each have defined contributions, defined benefits and some stocks and IRA's. In order to fairly divide assets (one of us will stay in the house with the kids) one of us would have to draw from a defined contribution via a QDRO to pay off the other. Can this be done in pa without divorcing and how?
