Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

collecting on a judgement

I won a judgement and the 30 days has passed. The defendant has neither filed an appeal or payed me. I did not have an attorney for this suit. My question is this, if I now obtain an attorney to collect, does the defendant have to pay any costs aquired by me in order to collect from him?

Re: collecting on a judgement

He/She will have to pay court costs, but you cannot recover attorney fees at this point. In PA, Attorney fees may only be recovered pursuant to a contract or if a specific law provides for recovery of fees.
