Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

I recently obtained a PFA in PA on an ex boyfriend. The week prior to this, an heirloom ring fell off of my hand in his car and he refused to return it to me. Since obtaining the PFA, I have sent one message to him requesting the ring be dropped off in my mail slot at his earliest convenience so that he does not have to break the PFA, of course that hasn't happened. I know he can't contact me in any way, and although the judge said that I could still legally contact him, I know that is not appropriate. I've gone to my local magistrate to request assistance, or guidance, I was given a form requesting I pay almost the value of the ring just to have it filed to him. Are there any other options for getting this priceless ring back?

If you win the case before the magistrate, your ex-boyfriend will be required to pay our costs. Other than this, I know of no other options available to you that won't reuire significant expense.
