Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

could i be sued if i was to let a kid ride my street bike before i get the title to switch it over. i am planning on writing a contract up but wanted to make sure there was no way around this for he is only 17 and the insurance and registration will be in my name for aproximatly two weeks. if he get hurt or kills himself can the parents sue me.

I'm not clear on your question, but here are some general concepts.

1. As the owner of the bike you may be liable if you allow someone to drive it who does not have the appropriate license, or you know or should know is not competent to drive it. In other words, if you "negligently entrust" the bike to someone else you may be liable.

2. Just because you own the bike does not make you liable if there is an accident.

3. The real issue is you want to make sure there is an insurance policy in force that covers you & the driver of the bike in case there's an accident.
