Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Pennsylvania

18 year old abandoned by mother

Basically left homeless. Mother did this to another sibling also at age 18 and moved to another state as mother is attempting to do the same. Does this 18 year old female have legal rights. What steps to take. Just graduated high school. Registered full time CCAC. Part-time job without benefits.

Re: 18 year old abandoned by mother

i am not sure of the question??? i think if you are the 18 year old, you are an adult and you can either, get a job, get a student loan or grant, or you could get welfare?

maybe i am confused as to your question. email me back with more questions?

Re: 18 year old abandoned by mother

As an 18 year old you are an ADULT. (no longer a juvenile)

As an Adult, you DO have legal rights.

You have the right to vote.

You have the right to Get A Job

You have the right to join the military

You have the right to make your own decisions about your life, and to be independent.

As an adult, you have the legal obligation to support yourself. (see "be independent", above)

You do NOT have the right to blame your mother for not continuing to support you.

So, go exercise your rights to get a job, rent an apartment, and live your life!
