Can an employer change your signed contract after you are employed as an independent contractor ?

A contract generally can only be modified by agreement of all parties. BTW the contracting entity is NOT called an employer if you are truly an independent contractor.

Also as you are in the city of Philadelphia, if you are an independent contractor then you likely need a business license to do business. Check with your friends at the Municipal Services Building.
