Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

severance agreement

I recently was terminated and given a severance package to review. The administrator of the package had signed it as he presented to me. I had a grace period to review. Due to my lack of knowledge, I took it home and submitted a counter-proposal to increase severance pay. I just received a notification from the company the proposal is not approved and the agreement now withdrawn. If the agreement was already signed by the company rep., is the original agreement binding and in effect? If so, what course of action do I need to take?

Thank you

Re: severance agreement

It would depend on what the severance agreement said. Most often there is a 21 day window to reveiw and agree. The agreement may well have contained language that the agreemnt could be withdrawn at any time prior to acceptance. I offer free consultations.
