Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Stolen Money Investigations

I'd like to know if you could tell me how long an investigation dealing with money would take. My girlfriend's ex-boss keeps telling her that the matter by which his check book was stolen and the money spent is still under investigation after approx. a month. On top of that, he is still training and highering new people, and I know that he's paying them because people aren't going to work for free. Her account was overdrawn when the two checks from the job bounced and now her account is frozen. Furthermore, she has payments to make and they are linked to that account and she doesn't have another account open. I would like to confront the man but don't know of any legal notions to mention or abide by. I would really appreciate your help and expertise because I don't like people taking advantage or ''beating'' my loved ones in the head. I thank you in advance for your time.

Re: Stolen Money Investigations

You can quickly resolve this problem by filing a complaint with the Department of labor. An employer must pay an employee with a strict period of time no matter what other circumstances apply. Even on termination the law governs how long and under what conditions an employer must make final payments of wages.

Your girlfreind will need to make the compliance, which can be done online through the department's website. She'll need the information on the employer, name, address, phone number and also the information on her pay stubs (salary).

Once the employer is contacted by the department of labor you should see a check very quickly.

Let me know if there is any problem after filing with the Dept. of Labor.
