Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Sued Landlord charging for Atty Fees.

My mothers landlord sent her a letter stating that she had to pay for their Attorney, court and other expenses because they are being sued by her family member. The accident occurred last summer outside the apartment building in the courtyard and my cousin broke her foot. Can they make my mother, who is on a fixed income pay for their lawyer fees just because the person who is suing them is a relative of a tenant?

No they can't. Even if they could your mother doesn't sound like she has deep pockets.

I also bet the landlord's attorney doesn't know about that letter. If it was me I would inform him of his client's shameless conduct.
