Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

If I found a ring at a grocery store, called 3 times, left a name and number and checked to see if anyone reported it, can I keep it since no one has contacted me or reported it missing?

Back when I was in college I was walking into town. I spotted what I thought was a $5 bill. Back in 1973 big money. Once I picked it up it turned out to be $65. that was the same amount that my father took out of the bank for mom to pay the weekly groceries. So I'm thinking somebody is out their grocery money. It was Saturday nigh and the town police were closed. I persisted I turned in to the police. they told me keep quiet if it's unclaimed for 30 days I get it. A week later they called someone had cl.aimed it. They did however give me a $10 reward.

If it's unclaimed for 30 days it will be considered abandoned.

I have no idea what the ring is worth but put yourself in the owners shoes. It may mean a lot to them far beyond it's cash value.
