Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Hi.my husband and i purchased 8 cemetary plots after my son and dad died in 2011.since that time we have been taking care of these plots.but the caretakers hired by the assosiation continue to also cut the grass whacking up theflowers and shooting grass over everything.we have asked śeveral times not to that we are taking care of our own plots but have been ignored.i read online that plot owners have the right to hire their own caretakers but am not sure if this is true and if a written letter to the assosiation would suffice to impliment our wishes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,kim fockler

Kim, you should read your association contract carefully. The contract or agreement should tell you who is reasonable for hiring the caretaker. If your contract doesn't specify, then read your local zoning or land codes. Your county may have enacted laws that protect you in cases like yours. You may want to talk to your local elected officer, like a county representative or legislator. Finally, as a partial owner, you may have the right to vote at association meetings. If so, raise your voice about the poor service you are receiving from the current caretaker. It may be time to hire a new company. Good luck.
