Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

A neighbor gave my car a jump. Another neighbor read her manual and told us to hook the cables up wrong. They melted a spot on her headlights. Am I responsible?

Legally, you are not responsible if you did not hook up the cables to your neighbor's battery, but an offer to pay some of the cost of buying a new headlight goes a long way as a gesture of gratitude.
