Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

I have been renting a home since october 2013. In april the landlord said the home may go into foreclosure, but she would take care of it. 2 weeks ago, came home to find a notice on the door that it is scheduled for sheriff sale 11-10-14. Landlord said she is working on saving the home. Got a letter in the mail 9-24-14 from the mortgage company saying the home is scheduled for sheriff sale 11-10-14. Do I pay her anymore rent? What are my rights

You could have stopped paying rent to the landlord with the first foreclosure notice, because the landlord has not been making mortgage payments and the lender has foreclosed on the property. You do not have to vacate the home until you receive a court order of eviction or ejectment. Meanwhile, save your money so that you will be able to pay the security deposit and moving expenses when you do have to move.

THIS RESPONSE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, SINCE I DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE REQUIRED, AND I DO NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH YOU.

* If the answers to your question confirm that you have a valid issue or worthwhile claim, your next step should almost always be to establish a dialog with a lawyer who can provide specific advice to you. Contact a lawyer in your county or township.

* Another reason for contacting a lawyer is that it is often impossible to give a good answer in the Internet Q&A format without having more information. The unique circumstances of your situation and things that you may not have thought to mention in your question may completely change the answer. If you want to be sure that you have a complete answer to your question and an understanding of what that answer means, establish a connection with a lawyer who practices in the area of your concern.
