workplace accident

I was fired from my job for an accident.The accident could have been avoided by correcting safety hazards in my workplace.Is this grounds for a case against my employer?

If you were injured in an accident, then you have a workers comp case. If you were fired for allegedly causing an accident, then you're probably out of luck. Unless you had an employment contract, then your employer has the right to fire you for any reason (other than race, gender, age, or other category of discrimination).

There is one other thing I can think of: If you have complained before about unsafe conditions at the workplace, then you may have a retaliation claim under the whistle-blower's statute.

You should also be aware that you have the right to unemployment compensation.
