Can the estate of the deceased pay for grandchildren to come to the funeral?

I don't know what state in which the estate is pending, but if the funeral has not been held then I doubt very much that there could even be a probate estate to pay for anything. Even if there was, I don't see how this would be a proper expense of the estate unless the will for the grandparent specifically provided that the grandchildren were to be reimbursed for these costs.
