Legal Question in International Law in Philippines

hi....I want to asks about my situation now, I worked in hong kong for 14 years and I moved in canada last year and my problem now is that my friend used my name to borrow money from a lending institution in hong kong, but since I left hong kong I haven't any here any calls or problem about my debt in lending but as of this months I received a acall from the lending that I still owe them money and they want me to pay my outstanding balance ASAP or else they will file a case against me and I need to get a police clearance in hong kong when I processed my permanent resident here in canada. Am I in trouble? or do I have a police record if the financing file a case against me? please enlighten me...thanks

If they file a criminal case against you then you are in trouble.
