Legal Question in International Law in Puerto Rico

What are the Inheritense law in Puerto Rico?

There are 7 siblings who own 12 acres of land in Puerto Rico. It's been 24yrs. and we can't seem to have the people who are living in our land, illegally, vacate. We've tried 3 times with no success. In fact, they have threaten us. My oldest sister may have something to do with that. We think that she has been collecting money from them for them to stay. We have been fighting with her and the people who are in our property. We would like to enjoy our inheritense that our father left us 24yrs. ago before we die. Please Help. This is not right. Something is wrong. This should have never went this long. Thank you.

Re: What are the Inheritense law in Puerto Rico?

You would be well advised to seek a consultation with a lawyer who is knowledgeable in the law of real property and the laws of Puerto Rico which govern the inheritance of such property and who practices in the local area where this particular property is located.

It may be that a partition suit needs to be filed

in the appropriate court that would require that this jointly held property be sold and the proceeds of the sale divided appropriately among the seven owners. (Whatever secret profits the older sister may have collected from unreported rents would most likely be deducted from her share of these sale proceeds.)
