I sung back of and did some co-production on an upcoming album for a local band. They plan on releasing the album next month. What am I entitled to finacially?

Re: vocal recording

What does your contract SAY you're entitled to?

No contract? What does your union say you're entitled to?

No Union?

You're entitled to be paid a session fee for the back-up singing. You MAY also be entitled to a percentage of the producer's royalty, IF you can prove you were a producer on the record.

Having a clear, unambiguous contract is the best way to avoid questions like this in the future. Talking about it after-the-fact is not.

You may wish to refer to the AFM (musician's union) rates for recording sessions, etc.
