Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Rhode Island

The tenament home (West Warwick) that I rent a portion of has been foreclosed on. We had no prior notice by the landlord. The bank offered the "cash for keys" but only 25 days to get out if we took it. If we do not take it and do not pay rent (granted anyone gave us the info to do so.) Can they evict us before the 90 days? What are our options at this point? How long can we stay? We are so confused.

Your options are to take the money and find another place to live, or stay and fight. Alternatively, you could tell the bank that you need more than 90 days to get out and try to negotiate further.

In my experience, usually representing landlords, 90 days is typically more than sufficient time to evict tenants, absent unusual circumstances.
