Legal Question in Consumer Law in South Carolina

Co-owner of car not paying

I co-signed for a car for my now ex-finacee. He is in possession of the car and isn't making the car payment. I'm afraid this will ruin my good credit. What can I do?

Re: Co-owner of car not paying

Not much, beyond making the payments yourself, I'm afraid. Co-signers on loans of any type are equally liable for the debts they sign for, and their credit is likewise at risk when the other borrower doesn't pay in a timely fashion.
