It is difficult to give you accurate advice because I am not sure what the "judgment letter" is. It could be just a tactic to scare you into paying something. I suggest that you take the letter to an attorney so that he or she can review it an give you more accurate advice.

In general, there is a statute if limitation of three years for a debt. However, if you are sued on a debt older than three years old you have to plead that in your Answer to the Complaint. If you were sued on this debt and then you ignored the Complaint there maybe a valid judgment against you. However, I have no way of knowing that without reviewing the letter that you received and then doing a little bit of research. If you really want a good answer to this question make an appointment with an attorney for a consultation. It may cost you a few bucks but you would have a solid answer. Good luck!
