Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

misdemeanor

i was previously an employee of a grocery store and after falling on hard times with student loans, house payment, childs daycare, etc.. i made the stupidest decision of my life and decided to take 80.00 out of the cash register. needless to say i confessed to doing such and they decided to procecute. i got a curtousy summons for court and my court date is on the 11th of august. This is my first time ever going to court for anything other than a traffic ticket. What is the worst that can happen?

Re: misdemeanor

Don't feel too bad. Your human and people make mistakes. Since this is your first time you have some good choices. The people I have represented in your sitution have had some pretty good options. First of all, since you do not have a criminal record you should qualify for one of the programs that are an alternative to prosecution. That would allow you to complete the program and have your record expunged so that on one will ever know you were arrested. If you would like to call I would be happy to direct you. This site will not allow me to post my phone number in this answer, but you can go back to my name and click on it and you will be given a number. You can also send an email to [email protected] and I can email it to you.
