Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

Simple Possession of Marijuana Penalties in South Carolina

I was given a simple possession while visiting the residence of a friend. When the officers asked someone to claim responsibility of the marijuana, she responded that it was ''ours.'' I said nothing and accepted the charge. Now, she wants to assume full responsibility for all of the marijuana confiscated. Is this possible? If not, will I lose my driver's license? I am 21 and this is a simple possession of marijuana, 1st offense.

Is is possible that she could legally take full responsibility and the charge could be dismissed against you. It is also possible that they will also prosecute you. I really don't know enough about what happened. Such as where it was found. Even if they do not drop the charge against you, there might still be a way to get you through the system without prosecution such as the PTI program. You can call if you would like more information.
