Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

If I marry a man who has children in the state of south carolina, do i have to end up paying his child support too? he has six, pays for 2 teens, but they are close to being adults. he's not on child support with the other 3 yet, but just in case for the future. I want no parts of the debt. is it possible?

The child support obligation is his, not yours. The Court cannot force a step-parent to pay any child support for step-children.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
